I come in here 90% of the time for their coffee, because they carry SightGlass. This rating is for the coffee and not the food. The food was OK.

It's Christmas season right now by the time this review is written and Sideboard Coffee Bar down the street has Christmasy vibe which is why we like to hang out here. The Christmas Song came on "Where Are You Christmas by Faith Hill" was a fantastic addition to the atmosphere. Had sandwiches of pesto and panini along with hot beverages that kept us warm and cozy on a freezing weather. Sandwiches tasted good, but my mocha was served lukewarm. Don't like lukewarm. Prefer hotter mocha. Their mochas didn't exceed our expectation. Service is pretty good. One of the things that ambiance can be real nice is that Sideboard has oversized restrooms nice and tidy where you can refresh and touch up. It's a snugly place where everyone can hang out, chill, catch up, and repeat.

Amazing food! I absolutely loved the house chai and how they served it in a bowl almost. The entire place is full of charm, especially if you take the time to poke around. I really enjoyed everything we ordered. You can tell this place is well managed because of how smoothly the place operates. We were there on a busy Saturday and it could have easily impacted the experience if the employees were not on top of it all. I'll certainly be back!

Sideboard is a unique hole in the wall that I am definitely returning to. It's communal and rustic with light flavors and quality food. We ordered at the front, grabbed a number, and found 2 seats near the back on a shared bench. Theres sideboards around the restaurant full of water cups, utensils, plates, and napkins for customers to grab themselves. I thought the breakfast sandwich had good flavors, but it wasn't up my boyfriend's alley. The gravlox Benedict was good, but I wish the hollandaise sauce had more flavor- it was a bit bland and runny. Overall, the prices are reasonable and the portions substantial. I'm looking forward to my next visit to try more of the menus.

This was my second time going to sideboard. The first time was actually for a first date, so I was a bit too "distracted" to take pictures or put time into a review. A few of my friends highly recommended giving sideboard a second chance. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that they serve both menus all day. I particularly love this because they have brussel sprouts I know... I'm probably the only person that eats brussel sprouts for breakfast. I decided to go with brussel sprouts, chicken wings and the hot chocolate (with espresso). It was perfect I'm actually super excited to go back and try more items from their menu (with the brussel sprouts of course). Thank you sideboard for a pleasant breakfast experience

I should have written this review years ago. This is a cozy, casual family spot. I go here for coffee, dessert, lunch or dinner. I bring my kids, friends, coworkers and family. I love this place. The fried chicken sandwich, the pulled pork enchiladas, the shrimp enchiladas, the salads, the brownies, the pastries, the brunch, it's all good. I love coming here during the holidays. It's so beautifully decorated. It's kid friendly too. When mine were babies it was so nice to have a place to go where I felt welcome and could feed the littles. Your staff are always so happy looking and service is excellent. I'm not upset about having to occasionally get myself a glass of water or a spoon at the buffet table if staff are running around. This is a casual spot and not the Ritz. It's priced that way too. Thank you Sideboard!

The honey and I seem to be spending quite a bit of time in downtown Danville recently and this past weekend the honey decided we should try out Sideboard. The space does not look that big from the outside, but in reality is two large buildings with seating that spills out of the french doors of one and takes up the entire open patio in between. After walking inside I ordered a carnitas benedict and a New Orleans style iced coffee for the honey and fries (with homemade ketchup), lemonade, brussels sprouts and a chocolate pot of creme to share. The service was friendly and although the food took a bit to come out (it was very busy), I loved everything we ordered. My freshly made lemonade was amazing and the fries were crispy and delicious. The pot of creme (essentially chocolate mousse) was sweet without being overpowering and the brussels sprouts were just a perfect side for the honey. All in all we really enjoyed our visit and will definitely be returning to Sideboard in the future!

Came here for lunch, which was a first bc I'm only ever here for breakfast. The corn pudding caught my eye and the gal said it was delicious. She was absolutely right. It was love at first bite delicious . It reminded me of a savory creme brulee/fresg soft tofu texture. Each had fresh corn kernels in it that I could stop eating while my friend watched me make Yoda sounds. The side salad was also a refreshing pale cleanse with a glass of watermelon cooler. I want to go back for some more next week. Highly recommend

We came here on a weekend evening and enjoyed our meal here. The atmosphere is casual with "vintage" plates, cups, tables, chairs. As my partner says, it's like they went to a thrift store and purchased one of everything, since most things are mix-matched. It was a hot day, and there was some AC in the restaurant, but since the doors are open, the air is sort of warm. I think this place (and the environment) could benefit from closing the door. Though there is an outdoor seating area that's also pretty nice. We ordered a steak sandwich, a tostada sandwich, an order of tater tots, and had a sour beer and watermelon mint juice. The food took a little long to come out, but the food was great when it came out. The tostada salad was very generous and the corn tostada was crispy and very good. The beans complimented the cheese and sauces well. My partner liked the steak sandwich at first and thought everything was fresh. But he said he got tired of the flavors of it, and felt like there could have been more sauce to it. The tater tots were not traditional tater tots. They are more like fried mashed potato balls. They were tasty, made with fresh ranch on the side. But I think that they could have posted photos of the dishes, especially when they are not typical of what the dish is. The ranch and ketchup were both fresh and tasted like it was made in house. Overall, we are happy we came here and would come back. We would probably order different things though since they have a huge menu.

Though I have only been here once thus far, I wanna bet that everything off their menu is a hit! I couldn't decide what to order for my 1st experience as there were soooo many options that sounded so good -- I really wanted to order several, lol but I knew I wouldn't be able to eat them all at once. The Order: - Slow Roasted Pork Quesadilla *** Special and exceeded my expectations entirely *** I would order this again! It came with 4 large pieces of quesadilla all generously filled with slow roasted pork. The entire plate was filled with salad that was placed over the buried quesadilla. - Vampiro (their take on a Bloody Mary - it was of good size and wasn't bad) - Olive Oil Cake w/ Orange Zest (one of my first times having olive oil cake and it was delish! Not too sweet which I loved). - Snickerdoodle Cookie (soft and yummy) - Thai Chicken Salad (my ordered and said it was okay, but she was expecting it to be different) My first dine-in stay at Sideboard was a success! My mom was the who shared Sideboard with me one afternoon for lunch. It is a place that looks a little tucked away if you don't walk past it on the Main Street side, you could miss it. There is an alley walkway opening that is on the other street where it is even a bit harder to tell what is down that way, but it does lead to the outdoor space of the restaurant. There was a line when we arrived, many people standing to wait, standing to order, and parties of people seated at the tables both indoor and out. The wait to order didn't seem unbearable. You order and pay inside at the front. You will receive a number and you seat yourself - there are a couple shared areas where you'll be able to get self served water, utensils, and condiments such as their very wide array of hot sauces to select from. Seating: there are small tables for smaller parties or solo visitors and there are larger family style tables where it is like communal seating. There is a rule they have for those who come w/ laptops to keep their stay to a minimum if they are there during heightened business hours. This is to help keep the flow of customers who dine in, a spot to sit after ordering. Nice place to be on a nice day. I like the outdoor and indoor / outdoor dining they have. It feels like you're in someone's backyard or house, it is so homey here - you really kind of feel like you're part of the community or neighborhood when here. I would come back and suggest it to others looking for a good spot to checkout!
